Greater Nashville’s business scene is crazy hot. It’s diverse, it’s creative and it’s brimming with new people, new money and new competition.

We want to reflect that energy in our annual Book of Lists, one of the Nashville Business Journal’s signature products that’s packed with market intelligence for our high-powered business audience.

So we’re reaching out to the city’s creative community with a call for entries: The NBJ wants to showcase original artwork in next year’s Book of Lists, and we’re seeking submissions from local artists.

Whether iconic views of places and landscapes or abstract illustrations, we’re looking for submissions that represent Music City and its vibrant business community.

The call for artists is open to students, hobbyists and professional artists. The NBJ’s editors will choose one entry to be featured on the cover of the Book of Lists, with others included inside the book and on NashvilleBusinessJournal.com.

Those entries will include information about the artists so our business audience can learn more about the creative minds fueling our city’s art scene.

Here are a few rules for entry:

  • Artists are asked to send high-resolution digital copies of their original artwork as a JPEG, TIFF or PDF file to Design Editor Meg Wrather at mwrather@bizjournals.com with the subject line “BOL art.” If the file is too large to email, you can send a link through Dropbox.
  • Artists can provide up to three entries for consideration. Any media will be considered, including paintings, drawings, photographs and sculptures.
  • Artists should include an entry form that includes the name and description of your piece. You can download the form here.
  • The book is in tabloid format, so vertical art will have the most impact.
  • The deadline for submissions is Oct. 12.

The Book of Lists is a yearlong, data-driven project that ranks the region’s largest companies across industries. It includes about 80 Lists with invaluable data on the hottest companies and key decision makers. It’s a must-read for our ambitious, fast-growing audience of business owners, corporate executives and professionals on the move.

The 2018-19 book will publish the week of Dec. 28 and is distributed to our print and digital subscribers and through retail sales. It’s a resource that business leaders, both in Nashville and nationally, turn to throughout the year.

Our creative community is a key part of the cachet drawing so many people to our city. I’m excited to see how the region’s creative minds will illustrate Nashville’s growth.
