A Juried Exhibition at ARC Gallery, Chicago. July 17 – August 12, 2017

In late July 2017, ARC will present “SHOUT!”
As political passions sweep the country, public expression has taken the form of marching, petitioning, donating, writing to congress…. While ARC Gallery encourages all these voices of outrage and resistance, the gallery is particularly committed to supporting creative expression as a vital and essential avenue of engagement as well. The creativity of signs at recent marches are just one inspiring example.
Because of this, ARC invites artists to participate in an exhibition, opening in July 2017, which will bring together a host of voices, culminating in a collaborative SHOUT! for justice, democracy, and equality.
In this call, ARC seeks out a diversity of art and artists, recognizing that in the awareness of our intersectionality, we can better acknowledge and celebrate the differences among us. ARC does not discriminate by gender, race, religion, sexuality, age or political party. All applications are welcome. We are looking for visual artists (2-D, sculptural, video or performance) who wish to join a chorus of passionate voices speaking out on current issues which affect them directly or about which they have a particular opinion. Jurors will choose entries on the basis of their artistic merit and expressivity. Jurors will also choose three juror-awards, each of which comes with a monetary prize.
ARC embraces the imperative that as artists, we will be SHOUTING to be heard!

All mediums and materials are eligible including video and performance for submission. Due to space limitations no projections or media-based installations will be accepted.
