The Public Art Committee of the Downtown Billings Alliance is seeking mural artists and mural
artist-led teams to submit large-scale community engaging painted mural proposals. The murals
will be part of the Downtown Billings LightBike Trail, an art installation that winds through the
downtown alleys in Billings, MT.
Seeking mural proposals that seek to engage with the viewer and reflect on the past, present, and
future of Billings and the region, pay homage to Downtown Billings and the surrounding area.
The mural will do so through style, use of color, subject matter, and/or historical reference.
The selected mural artist(s) will be responsible for the complete implementation of the
mural. The commission is for an original artwork or design. Collaboration and consultation with
community groups, property owner(s), other local artist(s), and local businesses are highly
encouraged and will be expected for the success of the project.

Top finalists will be notified for an interview by: Monday, June 12, 20236
Artist agrees to begin mural by June 30th and complete mural by September 30th, 2023
