Welcome to our 9th annual Northport Plein Air Paint Out & Exhibit. At this time we are planning to have the Plein Air Painting happening in the Northport area. A lot is still dependent on what restrictions may be like in July and we have learned to be flexible. There are some changes to the event this year that are exciting and offer more opportunity for people to see and purchase your artwork.
Friday, July 23 $15 NAA Member, $25 Non Member
– 7am-9am Check in at the Northport Art Association, Village Arts Building (VAB) 301 N. Mill St.
Paint throughout the day. Have artwork framed, delivered and ready to hang at the VAB by 4pm.
– 4pm Deadline Submit up to two (2) pieces of artwork.
· Must be ready to hang and at the VAB by 4pm. Late artwork will not be accepted.
· VAB will be open from 12-4pm to come in and frame your work.
– 4pm-5pm Artwork will be hung. Photos of artwork will be taken.
– 5pm-6pm Judging will take place. Aritsts leave the building.
– 6pm Doors open for Friday evening reception

Optional to participate in both the gallery exhibit and online exhibit or either one.
– 6pm July 25 – Online Gallery launch and online through August 1.
– 12-4pm Daily – Gallery Exhibit beginning Sunday, July 25
2021 Northport Plein Air Paint Out Eligibility and Regulations
· The Northport Plein Air Paint Out is open to all artists. Entry is not juried.
· Artwork media is limited to plein air paintings which include oil, watercolor, acrylic, pastel and multi-media. No photography.
· All artwork submitted for the event must be created en plein air on July 23 & 24, 2021.
· Artists must check in between 7am-9am, each day to have canvases stamped for the day.
· Up to two (2) pieces of artwork can be submitted each day. Canvas stamps must be checked.
· Artwork must be at the VAB and ready to hang by 4pm each day. Artwork submissions after 4pm will not be accepted.
· All artwork submitted must be for sale.
· The NAA will retain a commission of 30% on all sales. NAA collects and pays the sales tax. Artists are responsible for declaring 70% of the sale price.
· If you are participating in the Online Gallery, a photo of yourself in process of painting is requested

Accession forms will be available to fill out for artwork information.
Photos of the artwork will be done by NAA during the hanging of the exhibit(s)
General Information
· Artists are responsible for their own accommodations. We are not requesting lodging with NAA members this year.
· Social distancing protocols will be followed at the Village Arts Building:
Masks will be required in the building.
There may be limits to how many people can be in the VAB at one time.
The gallery may be set up in a directional flow to keep guests moving through.
There will be sanitizing stations near each door.
We will have snack bags each day for artists to pick up during check in.
There will not be a food reception. We are not sure yet if there will be an Artists meal.
We currently plan to have beer and wine available at the Friday & Saturday receptions.
The Friday & Saturday receptions are ticketed events. Each Artist will receive an artist entry ticket and a guest ticket for each day.

Online Gallery ARTWORK SHIPPING (if artwork cannot be picked up from the NAA during the gallery exhibit)
· NAA will post that shipping costs may be incurred on the promotional materials and the website.
· NAA will supply the purchaser with the artists contact information once payment is made to NAA.
· Purchaser will be responsible for connecting with the Artist and making the shipping/pickup arrangements.
· Additional costs for shipping will be determined between the Purchaser and Artist and paid directly to the artist.
