The New Hampshire Art Association invites artists to submit work for the 25th Annual Joan L. Dunfey Open Juried Exhibition centered on the theme of Resilience. In these challenging times, resilience has become a powerful lens through which we view our lives, communities, and the world at large. This exhibition seeks to explore the multifaceted nature of resilience—whether in response to personal adversity, social and political turmoil, environmental crises, or cultural transformation. We encourage artists to interpret Resilience broadly and imaginatively. How does your work reflect the capacity to adapt, endure, or recover? From small acts of self care, to global movements, how do you depict the strength and determination of individuals, communities, or even the natural world? Consider the quiet moments of perseverance such as experiencing the wonder and beauty of nature, the radical act of Black joy, cooking and sharing meals in community, as well as bold acts of defiance and recovery. No act is insignificant.
We welcome submissions in all mediums and styles, from representational to abstract, and encourage artists to push the boundaries of traditional interpretations. We look forward to seeing how you engage with this theme and contribute to an exhibition that highlights the enduring human spirit.
