The Municipal Arts Commission and the City’s Department of Development are holding an open call for public art. This project is open to all artists living anywhere in the U.S.
Entries will be submitted digitally. See the prospectus link PROSPECTUS.

Project Scope

Create a design that can be applied to this three dimensional fiberglass replication of the new ‘Ideally Yours’ New Rochelle city logo.

Artists may submit singularly or as a team. Artists are asked to create a depiction of their proposed sculpture design that closely indicates how they envision their work in real space.

Photoshop renderings are preferred. The sculpture is approximately 7′ high. Four views of the sculptural design are included with the downloadable reference photo.

Purpose of Project

Add art to the public realm in downtown New Rochelle, enliven the streetscape, create a welcoming vibrant downtown and strengthen a sense of community.

Designs must be painted or otherwise applied to the form. Acrylic paint is suggested. These sculptural forms will be exhibited outdoors and coated with a clearcoat fixative.

Artists are strongly encouraged to view the city’s website www.newrochelleny.com to understand city goals and initiatives particularly in relation to the arts and downtown development before making a submission.
