The Capture Awards celebrate and showcase outstanding work by professional photographers across six genres: Advertising & Fashion | Wedding & Event | Documentary & Street | Portrait & People | Landscape & Environment | Video & Film. The Capture Awards is open to professional photographers from Australia and New Zealand (citizens and residents). For the purposes of this competition, a professional photographer is defined as someone who has earned more than $5,000 from photography or videography in any 12-month period.
This is a photography competition and, as such, images must be captured with a camera (digital, film or phone camera) by the entrant. Images created by artificial intelligence using image-creation programs (for example, MidJourney, DALL-E, Stable Diffusion, etc) may NOT be entered. Images edited using Generative AI in programs such as Photoshop, Topaz Photo AI, etc, where pixels are added that did not exist in the original photo, may NOT be entered.
Winners and Runners-up will share in a prize pool valued at more than $26,000 including $10,000 cash and prizes from our sponsors.
Entries are open now and close at 11.59PM AEST, Sunday 10 September 2023.

Winners, runners-up and top finalists in each of the still-image categories will be published in a special edition of Capture magazine in December. Further, Top 5 still-image and video entries will be shown at capturemag.com.au.
An email will be sent in December notifying award winners of their placing in the competition. Award winners includes Winners, Runners-up, Top 10, Top 20, Highly Commended and Commended Award recipients.
