PERFORM/TRANSFORM: The World’s Fair
(January – June 2018)
Culminating in a week-long Utopia Expo (June 22-29), The World’s Fair brings people together to build utopia.
HOW DO YOU BUILD UTOPIA?
Artists, musicians, galleries, hackers, organizers, poets, teachers, gardeners, and lovers of all kinds are invited to contribute ideas. The mission of the World’s Fair is to aggregate people’s plans to build a free world while creating a platform to amplify and support their effort:
- To facilitate the sharing of resources & knowledge and forge alliances
- To create concrete possibilities for fair worlds
- To celebrate art and pop culture and respond to their call for a world with #nomoneynoborders
Project proposals for the PERFORM/TRANSFORM Utopian Expo (June 22-29) are open throughout the fair. We encourage folks to use the World’s Fair as a time for preparing, building, and connecting. In the six months leading up to the Expo, projects will be featured on the website and social media. Participants are invited to attend monthly meetups and other programmed events that facilitate resource-sharing, networking, and alliance-building. Whether they take the form of workshops, installations, performances, podcasts, or events, PERFORM/TRANSFORM projects model the future as we look to a world without money and borders. The Utopia Expo will takes place in a variety of locations, centered in Hyde Park.
All mediums welcome, including workshops, performances, and installations.
