4th Gunung Sunda Festival 2018

“Arts for Society, Society for Arts”
Society is arts. There is no arts if there is no society. Every society
has arts. Every society has arts. Arts is the result of society in
accordance with the development of it’s civilization. Basic values
adopted by the society and also a way to pass on the values given to
the next generation as various other functions, such as the function of
entertainment and the distribution of natural power.
4th Gunung Sunda Festival (4th GSFest)
The 4th Gunung Sunda Festival is an annual event consisting of
several arts and cultural programs, such as art exhibitions, theater
performances, dance, music, poetry, visual arts, and cross-media art.
In addition, artists/art groups can organize workshops, presentations
of work, and talks.
When and where?
This year the 4th Gunung Sunda Festival is held on 30-31 December
2018. 4th GSFest is held on the hill of Mount Sunda (700 masl) which is
located in Padaasih, Cisaat, Sukabumi Regency, West Java, Indonesia.
Who can apply?
As in previous years, we invited artists (music, visuals, literature,
dance, theater, cross-media) or art groups–emerging or professional
to be involved at the 4th Gunung Sunda Festival event. This call is
opened as wide as possible for artists/art groups from all countries.

Curation/Selection Process
We will select your application file and watch a video recording of your
last work.
Venue and Stage
The festival area is located at an altitude of 700 masl. Surrounded by
bamboo trees and views of the valley, settlements, cities, and Mount
Gede Pangrango between the hills.
We only provide an open space stage, a workshop area and simple talk
shows but do not eliminate the traditional and natural impression.
Viewers can watch art staging among the trees. Artists can utilize open
spaces to display paintings, sculptures, or installation works. When
asked, we will provide time for artists/art groups for presentations,
workshops, or just talk about their work.
Transportation, Accommodation, and Meals
We do not accommodate travel costs from the place of origin. We only
provide local transportation, traditional residences and local specialties.
All outside needs are borne by artists/art groups.
Arrival
Selected artists/art groups can arrive at 4th GSFest maximum one week
before the festival is held, by confirming your arrival after the
announcement results of the curation/selection. The organizer will pick
up at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport (CGK), Husein Sastranegara
International Airport (BDO), and at Sukabumi Train Station. All pickup
fees are borne by the organizer.
Is it paid?
Your involvement in the 4th GSFest 2018 is enough for us. But this time
we are building an early childhood education facility in a village near the
4th GSFest 2018, which is Kampung Pangkalan. Then the artist is
charged a minimum of $ 150 and the art group is charged a minimum of
$ 500. Financing is repaid on arrival.
