VAST sponsors this annual event to offer its members an important opportunity to enter their work in a juried exhibition that showcases members only.
The exhibit provides an excellent venue for the North Texas community to appreciate the high quality and diverse nature of art produced by area artists. Artists who are not already members of VAST can join for as little as $35 on the day entries are accepted.

JUROR
Carter Scaggs received his BFA in Printmaking from the University of North Texas and his MFA in Printmaking from Indiana University. He has been teaching at Collin College since 1993. He teaches 2-D Studio courses, including 2-D Design, Figure Drawing I & II, and Printmaking I & II. As a second-generation artist/teacher, Scaggs has been involved in art education from an early age. His philosophy of teaching is based on what he remembers of his best teachers; they shared their knowledge, loved their craft and sought to help each student be successful.
Scaggs has exhibited his work in galleries and competitions throughout the U.S. He works with intaglio, relief and drawing processes. His work is decidedly narrative and attempts to document his subjective responses to significant events, figures, and objects. His artwork typically depicts allegorical, symbolic, and narrative scenes through which he hopes to convey the underlying and profound meaning within the world of which we live.
