In 2017 the Festival will be held during the weekends of September 16th/17th and 23rd/24th.
As usual, the heart of the Festival will be the Artists’ Open Houses and Studios. Are you lucky enough to have more space than you need? Would it make sense to have a group show together with other Merton artists? Do you have artist friends from outside the borough who could share with you? Or – if you prefer not to show at home – do you know a shop, cafe or other business that you could approach? Are there any venues you could recommend to other artists who might be in that position?
This year’s theme is… Reflection & Transformation
As in 2016, you’ll be able to submit up to three proposals for our themed group shows, with a guarantee of being able to show one work in one of the venues. So get planning… We’d love to see your interpretation of the theme in ceramics, collage, drawings, installation, painting, photography, prints, sculpture, textiles, video – and other media we haven’t thought of yet. Last year the themed exhibitions were at Merton Artspace (Wimbledon Library), the Sultan pub, St Mark’s church and Merton Abbey Mills. We have other exciting places lined up for this year!
