FAQ about OPPOSITES:
With our drop-off dates for OPPOSITES quickly approaching, we thought it’d be best if we answer some of the questions that some of you have asked. We are looking forward to seeing what you’ll be submitting.

What mediums are acceptable?
We do not have a limit on the mediums. We welcome a full range, from multimedia, painting, photography, spoken words to sculpture.

How many pieces can I submit?
There is no limit to the number of pieces you can submit that pertain to the theme of OPPOSITES – whether it’s in meaning or design.

The pieces I’m thinking of submitting have previously shown at LARAC. Can I submit them again?
Yes, as long as it fits with the theme of OPPOSITES.

Is there a size restriction?
Short answer: No. Long answer: While we don’t wish to restrict your work, we do have some limitations with the gallery space. If your piece(s) is on the larger scale, reach out to our Gallery Curator and have a chat about it.

How would you like the artwork?
Artwork must be labeled with name and title. All 2D work must be ready to hang with undamaged framing and wire on back, please no saw-tooth hangers or single triangle brackets.

What is the process for submitting?
We ask that you bring your finished piece(s) to the gallery (7 Lapham Pl. Glens Falls) during our drop-off dates (September 22 thru 24 from 10am-4pm). With your submission, we will need an Artist Statement, a full list of your pieces, medium used and cost (if for sale)

When will I know if my piece is in the show?
Jurying for the show is happening between Sept 28-30. We will notify you of the outcome at the end of that week and ask that the pieces that were not selected be picked up on October 4-5th.

If accepted into the show, what’s next?
If and when accepted into the OPPOSITES show, we will need a one paragraph (5-7 sentences) bio/artist statement from you by Wednesday, October 4th. More info will be included in our follow-up email to you.

Do you have to be a member of LARAC to submit your work for the show?
No. Everyone is welcomed to submit their work for consideration.

Is there a fee?
There’s a $10 for members and $15 for non-members fee.

Is there an opening reception?
What is a gallery without opening receptions! Plan to join us Friday, October 6 from 5-8pm to celebrate the opening of the BOUNDARIES show.

When can I pick up the pieces, if in the show?
Pick-up is Nov 4 + Nov 7-8.
